Compare/Contrastor

Tran:
Read this space for tips and help.

Purpose: Use the Compare/Contrastor to visually compare two ideas or concepts. You can list details that belong to each of the concepts and details that belong to both of the concepts. The Compare/Contrastor helps you prepare for essays and test questions.

Tips:

1. Use this tool when you have to write about two things that have similarities and differences.
2. List the items you are to write about next to the letter over each circle.
3. List how the things are different under the "A" and the "B" headings.
4. List how the things are the same where the two circles overlap under "both A and B".
5. Use each list to make paragraph statements beginning with how they are the same (both A and B) and then how they are different (Only A or Only B).
6. Be sure to use an introduction sentence at the beginning and a summary sentence at the end of your paragraph.
