Tran: Read this space for tips and help.
Purpose: Use the KWHL tool as a study aid by relating new information to what you already know and what you want to learn. After locating sources, use the card to summarize your new information.
Tips:
1. Use this tool to help you understand what you already know and what new stuff you will learn in school.
2. Use this tool before you begin learning new stuff. It helps you get your mind ready to learn the new stuff.
3. Put in the K what you already know about the topic you are learning.
4. Then put in the W what you want or expect to learn about it in class.
5. Use the H to list sources you will check for information.
6. Afterwards put in the L what you actually learned and compare it with what you wanted or expected to learn.
