Making Choices card
Tran: Read this space for tips and help.
Purpose: Use Making Choices to help you analyze possible outcomes for a behavior. You can describe what the payoffs and costs of the behavior would be now, later, and in the future and then make a behavior choice.
Tips:
1. This tool helps you analyze a problem behavior that gets you bad consequences.
2. Decide on a different behavior that will get you what you want (payoffs) and avoid bad consequences (costs) to you.
3. Work out a simple statement you can practice. Then say this to yourself to help you do the better behavior and avoid a bad consequence. Practice this statement a lot so you remember it when you need it.
